Acer’s Next-Gen Swift Copilot+ Ultrabooks: Intel Core Ultra, AI Features, 29-Hour Battery

Acer recently launched new striking and ultra-sleek laptops, Acer’s Next-Gen Swift Copilot+ Ultrabooks: Intel Core Ultra, AI Features, 29-Hour Battery. They are the Acer Swift 14 AI (SF14-51) and Swift 16 AI (SF16-51) Copilot+ PCs, they are the first Swift models powered by new Intel^® Core^™ Ultra processors (Series 2) to unlock new AI experiences.

Acer is among the first to debut this new generation of AI laptops. They are powered by Intel^® Core^™ Ultra processors that optimise processing across the CPU, built-in Intel^® Arc^™ graphics, and a next-generation neural processing unit (NPU) that offers up to 47 Trillions of Operations Per Second (TOPS). This exceeds the requirements for seamless, best-in-class AI performance on Microsoft Copilot+ PCs and contributes to a combined AI processing power of up to 115 TOPS. They also offer exceptional power efficiency and battery life with up to 29 hours of video playback and up to 21 hours of mixed use.

The new Acer Swift’s AI features are going to enhance the user experience straight out of the box.

Microsoft Copilot

The Microsoft Copilot is accessible through the Copilot key, boosting productivity with features such as intelligent task summaries and the groundbreaking Recall, which can quickly retrieves contextual information from your past computer activities through natural language queries. Users can enjoy real-time translations via Live Captions while on Microsoft Teams or Zoom calls or browsing videos on Microsoft Edge. Click to Do analyses the context of your current actions and provides relevant shortcuts and actions with a click.

Microsoft Paint is now enhanced. receiving a significant upgrade with powerful AI-enabled tools for those who work with photos. Cocreator lets you generate AI artwork – powered by the popular DALL-E 3 model – within Paint using text prompts. That is also Generative Fill and Erase, making it easy to add and remove objects in your photos, while Background Removal, isolates the subject in your image with a single click.

These Copilot+ PC AI experiences are being rolled out and will come to Acer Swift devices through free updates by the ned of this year.

Acer own AI solutions 

Acer’s own AI solutions further enhance the user’s experience. There is the dedicated AcerSense key gives one-touch access to various AI-powered tools, such as the real-time system performance and Acer Assist, a privacy-centric, offline chat assistant. For those who don’t want to upload confidential documents into the cloud, Acer Assist can summarise documents on your device. They can also help to troubleshoot issues with your laptop.

Other features include Acer LiveArt 2.0 and VisionArt, which makes it easy for all users to access AI-powered image editing and AI-generated wallpapers.

Acer’s AI innovations also improve human-computer interactions. User Sensing has an innovative Multi-Screen Assist feature, allowing seamless transitions between laptop and monitor screens by automatically teleporting the cursor and switching the active window based on where the user is looking. The built-in 1440p QHD IR webcam (with physical privacy shutter) and a triple microphone array are enhanced by Gentle Lighting for a natural light effect, Super Sharp Mode for improved resolution and contrast, and Portrait Refinement for smoothened skin. Personal Call and Conference Call modes switch the microphones between multiple speakers and a single speaker for precise voice pickup and enhanced clarity.

Acer PurifiedView 2.0 and PurifiedVoice 2.0 build on and optimise Microsoft Studio Effects’ core features — such as Automatic Framing, Background Blur, and Eye Contact Correction — to improve speaker engagement during meetings and make you look more professional. In addition, Voice Focus and Dynamic Lighting enhance audio and visual clarity, even in challenging environments.

Data protection has become more critical and crucial with the rise of AI usage. The new Acer laptops safeguard users’ digital assets with biometric security and several layers of protection built-in at the hardware and software levels.

Under the hood, the new Intel^® Partner Security Engine helps preserve data confidentiality and code integrity while maintaining high performance for demanding AI workloads. Meanwhile, the tamper-resistant Microsoft Pluton security processor is built directly into the CPU to safeguard sensitive data and encryption keys. These two features ensure comprehensive security of your data from chip to cloud.

To enhance device security, Swift laptops feature biometric solutions supporting Windows Hello login, including a fingerprint reader and facial recognition through the 1440p QHD IR webcam. Powered by AI, Acer User Sensing technology enables the proximity sensor adjacent to the webcam to detect the user’s presence, automatically locking the screen when the user moves away and waking up the device when the user returns.

Premium, performance-minded, and sustainable

Subtle touches highlight the new Acer Swift AI’s sleek and premium design. The aluminium cover features a stylish icon with a dynamic, iridescent effect. At the same time, the touchpad illuminates with an AI Activity Indicator when the NPU is utilised or if Copilot is activated. The new Acer Swift opens smoothly and easily with a single hand up to 180 degrees. With their thin and light form factors, the Swift 14 AI and Swift 16 AI are easy to carry by hand or in a book bag.

The gorgeous OLED displays provide ultra-smooth playback with brilliant DCI-P3 colour accuracy, HDR TrueBlack 500 certification, and Eyesafe 2.0 certification. The Swift 14 AI is available with a 14-inch 3K (90Hz refresh rate) or FHD (60Hz refresh rate) resolution display, while the Swift 16 AI line features a 16-inch 3K (120Hz refresh rate) panel.

The laptops are designed with performance in mind. They can be equipped with up to 32 GB LPDDR5X-8448 memory and up to 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD for fast storage access and multitasking. The latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth™ 5.4 wireless technologies deliver fast, reliable connections, while a wide range of physical ports — including HDMI 2.1, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, and two USB-A ports — ensure maximum compatibility.

The Swift 14 AI and Swift 16 AI continue Acer’s Earthion initiative and commitment to sustainable practices; they utilise post-consumer recycled plastic in the device, ship with 100% recycled packaging, and are EPEAT Gold-registered.

The Acer Swift 14 AI is now available in Singapore, prices start from $1,499. They are available at retail stores such as Best Denki, Challenger, CR Group, Courts, Gain City, and Harvey Norman. They are also available online on Amazon, Lazada, Shopee, and the Acer E-store.

The Acer Swift 16 AI will be available in Singapore this December 2024, with prices starting from $1,649.
